Jon Vick and Steven Boardman make up the dynamic duo Board & Victorville. They met when Jon worked for Locked On Records, and Steve worked in the Pure Groove studio. With Steve on mixing duties, Jon’s production of ‘Vodooz’ by ‘Funk Rulez Supreme’, resulted in a Dutch hit. It was noted in both their diaries for future collaboration….
Spending most of 2005 – 06 playing in Holland, and Touring with the Audio Bullys, Jon played the main stage at Mystery Land festival, Convertible, Sensation White, and headline slots at Escape in Amsterdam.
In 2006 he came to The Boardroom with the slamming numbers ‘Chum’ and ‘Disciple’ already in his briefcase.
He was hired on the spot.
2007 Board & Victorville released ‘Disciple/Self Life’ as part of the series ‘The Boardroom presents..’ on the German label Klang Elektronik. It was strangely reported as going under the name of the ‘Chromophobia E.P’. for reasons not known. The tracks ‘Chum/Buffer Corruption’ followed later that year.
They received strong support from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Adam Beyer and Roman Flugel.
Remixes followed; Johannes Heil’s ‘Warrior of Light’, and Alter Ego’s ‘Chicken Shag’
2008 Victorville’s Boardroom mixed ‘Cloaks’ came out on Hypercolour records, along with a remix from Losoul (Playhouse).
After a short time away honing their skills they are back with two releases due out soon on the The Boardroom presents imprint.
