TBRP001 Radical Majik’s Mental Heath E.P.
Artist: Radical Majik
Label: The Boardroom presents…
Catalogue: TBRP001
Released: 24th October 2011
Rad Rice and Steven Boardman are Radical Majik. They sculpt bowel-shatteringly funky head-spinners, hewn from bare circuits, and disco sweat. Previous dancefloor-botherers include ‘Dub Rider‘, ‘Spread The Hot Potato‘, ‘Direct Action‘ and remixes for 2Raumwohung and Andrew Weatherall.
Here are radio edits of the full digital mixes.
A1: ‘Fianchetto’. Melancholic melodies over Balkan bass, Latin percussion, and a house beat. Reminiscent of their Sven Vath Cocoon smash ‘Dub Rider’.
B1: ‘What Next? An electro breaks monster, or jacking acid house for politically charged dancing feet? Depends which foot you dance on. Pre-release support from Radioactiveman’s Keith Tenniswood.
B2: Mental health Time Bomb: Retro-styled resonant bass and swooping organ over a chunky beat. Already a favourite of Dissident’s Andy Blake.
Very limited edition 180 gram vinyl with hand printed sleeve. These are different from the digital mixes, (also includes digital ep download).
